FIGURE 43. In the Setup dialog box you define how to blend together two colors
to create a KDE background.
NOTE: As you select colors and backgrounds, the Preview
window in the upper right corner of the dialog box shows you
what the Desktop will look like.
To select a wallpaper graphic for your Desktop background:
1.
Choose the Desktop for which you want to select a wallpaper.
2.
Within the Background tab of the Desktop section, find the Wallpa-
per section of the dialog box.
3.
From the drop-down list that initially displays “No wallpaper,” select
a graphic image for your wallpaper.
KDE includes almost 100 wallpaper graphics to choose from. If you don’t
see one you like, choose the Browse button to select a graphic that you
have created or downloaded as your wallpaper.
NOTE: Wallpaper can be created in several standard graph-
ics formats, including xpm, jpeg, and gif.
4.
Choose how you want the wallpaper positioned from the drop-down
list.
For example, centered in the middle of the screen or tiled repeatedly
across the screen. Your choice depends on the style of graphic image that
you select.
5.
Choose Apply to make your selections active.
6.
Choose File|Exit to close the KDE Control Center.
